One of the World’s Three Greatest Raves: Solo Experience at the Full Moon Party
Introduction
Hello to everyone considering attending the Full Moon Party!
I’ve recently participated in one alone, and I’m here to share my experiences, complete with pictures and videos.
What is the Full Moon Party?
The Full Moon Party is a massive beach party held on Thailand’s Koh Phangan Island during each full moon night. It’s one of the world’s three major raves, alongside Spain’s Ibiza and Goa in India. The party attracts about 30,000 people from all over the world during the high season.
Location and Dates
The party takes place across Haad Rin Beach on Koh Phangan. There’s transportation available from the hotels, and while the party starts during the day, the peak hours are at night.
Participation Fees and Tickets
The only real cost is essentially the parking fee of 500 baht.
Dress Code and What to Bring
Light, comfortable clothing is a must. Although special Full Moon Party T-shirts are sold, there is no strict dress code. It’s crucial to keep personal belongings minimal to avoid thefts, common at crowded events.
Safety Measures
Due to the prevalence of pickpocketing, it’s essential to always keep valuables with you. Consumption of alcohol and drugs should be cautious as recent crackdowns have decreased their availability.
How to Enjoy the Party
You can enjoy dancing, local food, and drinks at various booths. The jumping rope on fire is a popular activity. There’s also an area for pull-up competitions which turns quite festive.
Recommended Accommodations
- Sunrise Resort Koh Phangan: Located right at the party venue, offering beachfront villas.
- Phangan Bayshore Resort & Spa: Offers 24-hour security and is within a five-minute walk to the venue, ensuring safety and convenience.

Conclusion
Attending the Full Moon Party alone is entirely feasible, and for those interested in more local experiences, weekly parties are also recommended.
