What is Koh Phangan?

Koh Phangan is a beautiful island in southern Thailand, nestled between Koh Samui and Koh Tao. It was also the setting for the movie “THE BEACH” (2000)

The island is famous for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and above all, its abundant nature. Among the activities, yoga and parties are particularly popular, drawing visitors from all over the world. Koh Phangan is a free-spirited island where you can relax with beach yoga and traditional Thai massages or dance wildly at parties!

Most tourists are from Europe, Israel, and Russia, and people of all nationalities dance together harmoniously.

Jungle Experience

While the Full Moon Party, one of the world’s top three raves, is the most famous festival on Koh Phangan, the island also hosts many local parties and large-scale festivals. Among these, the self-proclaimed No.1 underground party is the Jungle Experience!

Some say it’s an experience better than the Full Moon Party, and it’s a more hardcore party! The event is held once a month, on the day before the Full Moon Party. The music genres are Tech House and Techno, starting at 22:00. Note that there are dry days in Thailand, and if the party falls on one, it starts at 0:00.

At the Jungle Experience, artists create paintings within the venue. It’s impressive to see them enjoying painting powerful pieces. These artworks are created solely with spray paint and completed in just 3 hours. Amazing!

You can also watch the famous Koh Phangan fire dance! Fire dances are usually part of large festivals.

Decoration

The vivid stage decorations at the Jungle Experience are unforgettable. The stage is shaped like a dragon, with the DJ visible through the dragon’s mouth. It seems it used to be a tiger before!

How to Get There

The Jungle Experience is located in the center of Koh Phangan, in Ban Tai. Just tell the taxi or songthaew driver “Jungle Experience,” and you’re good to go! If you prefer not to share a ride, you can also rent a bike, but be careful as you will have to ride through poorly lit mountain roads.
